A little premature Boras, and the rest of the MLB

In light of the Red Sox winning the World Series, what happened to the publicity and congratulations they highly deserve? Just because the series didn't turn out to be a thriller like everyone hoped it would doesn't mean the Red Sox lose recognition. It hasn't even been a story that they won the World Series because of everything else going on in sports. Its the WORLD SERIES people! A season that included 162 regular season games and 14 post season games. This is something that should be recognized a lot more than it did this year. People all over were loving the Rockies because of their magical run, and they too deserve another round of applause for what they accomplished. That all got tossed aside during game 4 of the World Series when A-Rod's agent Scott Boras decided to break the news that A-Rod would not be returning to the Yankees in 2008. Why couldn't this wait? I understand that A-Rod is arguably one of the biggest names in sports and that people want to know but at the same time it could wait. It's the Red Sox and Rockies time to shine biggest they were on the biggest stage in baseball but instead we had to hear that A-Rod wouldn't be back on the Yankees. Big Deal! That news can wait and anything about the Yankees can wait when the Red Sox are playing in a game that could win them the World Series. It sickens me. At least Scott Boras had the courtesy to apologize today even though he probably only did because Major League Baseball was a little upset with his timing as well. Now we are hearing more and more everyday about the Yankees, like who's going to be their new manager, or who will file for free agency? I would like to know all of these answers but it needs to stop being hyped so much. I got so excited last night when I heard Joe Torre is the new manager of the Los Angeles Dodgers (I'm a Dodgers fan) only to find out a bit later that the Dodgers and Torre are only talking right now and nothing has been signed. Semi good news though was that Grady Little, the manager of the Dodgers, resigned today, meaning the Torre speculation could be true. I really hope it is because he is one of the best managers of all time but I don't want to hear about it until a deal is done. Apparently Joe Girardi signed with the Yankees today as their new manager, so that is good news for Yankees fans. I also heard that A-Rod might join the Dodgers, now I would really love that even though I'm not a huge fan of A-Rod. Anyway, we'll see how the rest of the week goes with these stories but I just wanted to get that out about the whole thing having ridiculous timing and it deteriorated from the Red Sox celebration. Oh yeah, one more thing...go Dustin Pedroia, that is my new favorite baseball player. The guy is from my Dad's hometown and is an awesome rookie! Hits for average, good speed, great defense, pretty good power, and most of all...he;s a team player and understands his role in winning a championship. ---CJ
